<itunes:summary>The goal of WinningRuns.com has always been to educate barrel racers, and to help you make Winning Runs! The Road to Winning video series is a serious step toward that ultimate goal. This second installation of the series sees Charlotte pick up where Terry, John Paul and T.J. left off. Charlotte brings some more advanced horses to the Diamond W Arena and moves forward to pattern work in this video.

You are allowed full access to Charlottersquo;s training regimen in this video as she moves to the pattern with a couple of horses that are very different from the last videorsquo;s participants. The change in horses allows Charlotte to expand her conversation about conformation and the kind of horses she chooses for her personal barn. More than the change in mount, Charlottersquo;s choice in horses allows us to see her program as it applies to more advanced level horses.

This video will be an important staple in your video library as it emphasizes the importance of a strong foundation. Since the inception of WinningRuns.com, Charlotte has advocated a strong foundation and broke horse. In this video, she again impresses the importance of the basics in making a barrel horse. Topics such as equipment selection, hand placement on the reins, your approach to the barrel, forward motion, consistent communication and a consistent warm up routines are discussed.

This video is suitable for advanced riders and horse handlers with strong riding ability. The exercises presented here are suitable for colts and young horses, and care should be taken to exercise caution when working with young horses. It is the recommendation of WinningRuns.com that handlers with limited experience attempt these methods only under the supervision of a professional.

Liz Holder and her horse Rocket join Charlotte for a mini-clinic in this video, and the session is just as insight filled as the rest of the video. Rocket has been running already and has some habits that Liz would like Charlotte to help her address. After a run through the patter, Charlotte rides Rocket around and tunes on him just a bit. The change is remarkable, and the smile on Lizrsquo;s face when she gets back on her horse speaks volumes. With the results of just this short mini-clinic, itrsquo;s obvious that Liz and Rocket are well on their way to making some Winning Runs!

With Charlotte Cunningham, Terry Ford, John Paul Trujillo and T.J. Jones

The goal of WinningRuns.com has always been to educate barrel racers, and to help you make Winning Runs! The Road to Winning video series is a serious step toward that ultimate goal. This series will literally take the viewer from beginning to end, from ground work to fast work! Charlotte has planned a series that starts by bringing Terry Ford, John Paul Trujillo and T.J. Jones of RTF Running Horses right into your living room where they will help you select and train your colts from start to finish.

Terry Ford and John Paul Trujillo take time in the beginning of this video to discuss and demonstrate the steps they take with their colts from the time they hit the ground to instill a solid foundation on them. While Terry discusses the process, John Paul illustrates how to begin groundwork with a colt so that he is ready for the next steps in training. John Paul’s patience is evident in this video, and it is easy to see why colts are so at ease in his hands. The groundwork basics that are shown and explained in this video will have your horse used to being handled, receptive to ropes, blankets and the saddle, and willing to move out freely.

T.J. Jones moves the same colt past basic groundwork in this video, and illustrates some additional desensitization work that will help to create a calm horse even in dangerous situations. The techniques that T.J. uses will have your colt rodeo ready, and far past the typical freak-outs that colts can be notorious for. T.J.’s demeanor is calm and unruffled, and you can see that his methods are effective.

Charlotte spends some time during this video helping you choose a prospect for barrel racing. She’ll go over the qualities that she looks for in her horses, and she also highlights the traits that she simply will not accept. This video introduces her to one of the future stars that she has in her barn, and this gorgeous colt puts on quite a show as Charlotte talks about her first ride on a new horse.

As an added bonus, you are invited to a private lesson with Charlotte Cunningham as the instructor. Lisa Downs and Feather are the students in the Mini Clinic with Charlotte. Lisa is a student from Charlotte’s full clinic held at Diamond W, and she is back for more for some one on one instruction. It seems Feather has been getting past the first barrel and occasionally blowing off the third when asked for speed. Charlotte offers some simple solutions and subtle tweaks, that garner immediate improvement and have Lisa and Feather on the road to making some Winning Runs!!

She has raised and trained several champions and with the help of her husband Rick, she is continuing to burn up the 4-D circuits!?Karla has broken her training philosophy down into a graded system, and in this video she will teach you how to graduate your horse with honors! From start to finish, Karla takes this opportunity to touch on every aspect of training her horses and shows you how to create a champion who will certainly make that Winning Run!!

He is the teacher responsible for getting her horses to the 2nd or 3rd grade level and then Karla takes it from there.

Karla give more information in this video than you will be able to take in from one watching. You’ll find yourself going back to this video over and over, each time finding one more golden nugget that will surely help you create a champion in your barn. She makes several runs for you on her horses and allows you to see, that even a champion of her caliber isn’t perfect.

This video is suitable for beginner to advanced riders with at least average riding ability, and the exercises presented here are suitable for young to finished horses. Karla rides three different horses in this video, and she provides a wealth of information that will have you running to the arena with your horse in tow to get started on making your next champion. She explains what she is doing every step of the way and really gives you insight into a trainers mind.
This is the second WinningRuns.com video that features a discussion about hoof and farrier care. David takes time in this video to discuss proper shoeing and hoof care, and also discusses common issues with barrel horses that can be attributed to improper shoeing. David discusses the various tactics he employs to keep their horses sound and running strong and specifically discusses issues such as underrun heels, horses that pull shoes, the differences in shoeing running bred -vs- classically bred horses, how to address hoof condition issues, and nail placement in a hoof. His discussion is frank and informative and will leave you feeling more confident about conversations with your farrier.

Cassie is a joy to watch in this video! She has mastered the art of clearly explaining her training philosphy and discussing it as she rides. You will learn from this video how she takes some of those “fire breathing dragons” off the track and turns them in to winning horses in the arena. Cassie takes the time to discuss when she breaks her horses, how she starts them, and how she gets them well broke and responsive. She rides two different horses in this video, and the horse change allows you the opportunity to see how she works with both her finished horses and the fidgety colts that are sure to be future champions.

This video is suitable for beginner to advanced riders with at least average riding ability, and the exercises presented here are suitable for young to finished horses. Cassie takes the time in this video to discuss tack and bit selection, training aids, hoof care, slow work, addressing alleyway issues, pocket size and placement, her warm up routine, the importance of strong basics and foundation, them mental game of barrel racing, and the importance of her team. There is no shortage of information included in this video. From the steps that David and Cassie take to make a horse, to the importance of a strong team, this video provides insight into a successful training program. You are allowed to delve into the mind of an NFR competitor, and the result is a video that is easy to watch and understand.

The Winning Tips installment this month is a continuation from last. This is part two of Charlotte Cunningham’s clinic at Diamond W Arena, and this is the nitty gritty piece of the clinic. Charlotte starts to ride participant horses and really dig down into the issues that she saw in the runs that started the clinic. This is the part of the clinic where she really shows her students how to make those Winning Runs!!

Marne rides three different horses in this video and she uses each of them to show you how to correct common issues that barrel horses exhibit when learning the pattern. Marne’s philosophy of keeping training simple, encouraging forward motion and not getting in a hurry are perfectly illustrated with the three horses that she rides. Each horse is different and presents with a different challenge, and Marne not only explains but shows you how to meet those challenges.

Bob takes time in this video to explain the importance of making sure your horse is level and balanced when shod, and he illustrates on different horses how that can mean different things. Bob clearly explains how common shoeing mistakes can affect your horses’ movement, and he discusses how those same mistakes can often lead to founder, navicular issues, ringbone and contracted or under run heels on your horse. The time spent with Bob in this video is invaluable to the barrel racer, because as Charlotte points out, “No foot - No Horse.” Bob’s explanations will leave you well equipped to discuss your horses needs at your next farrier appointment and leave you with a better understanding of how your horses feet should work.

This video is suitable for beginner to advanced riders with at least average riding ability, and the exercises presented here are suitable for young to finished horses. Bob and Marne take time to discuss the importance of a strong warm up routine, picking up leads, bit and tack selection, keeping a horse collected in the turns, appropriate shoeing for your horse, as well as supplemental nutrition. The Loosenort’s horses are a perfect study for this video. They allow you to see Marne address such issues as blowing out of the back side of the barrel, anticipating the turns, being sluggish in the turns and cross firing.

The time spent with Bob and Marne will be a welcome addition to any training video collection, and the knowledge contained within will surely help you to go out and make that Winning Run!!

If you’ve wanted to go to a clinic, but for whatever reason could not make it, this month’s Winning Tips installment is for you!! Take this incredible opportunity to be a non-riding student at on of Charlotte Cunningham’s barrel racing clinics. You’ll get to watch her address issues specific to each student on the video, and you’ll have an opportunity to hear Charlotte explain her philosophy on running barrels and where our sport is headed.

WinningRuns.com trip back East to visit Crossroads Arena in Cloverdale, Indiana, has been fruitful to say the least. This month, Charlotte and the crew are coming to you again from the best arena East of the Mississippi, and they are bringing Brad Wagner to you!! As a five time AQHA World Champion in both barrel racing and pole bending, a three time Sweepstakes Congress Champion in Pole bending, and with multiple futurity and derbt wins under his belt, Brad offers you his best in this video installment and he shows you how (from started colt to finished horse) to make that Winning Run!

In this video Brad shows you how to make a horse:
- How to start, train and tune a barrel horse.
- How to address common issues in finished horses.
- How to create fluidity and correctness around a barrel.
- and some helpful tips for pole benders.

Brad rides three different horses in this video and allows you to view his training program from start to finish. Every aspect of his program is outlined and discussed in this video from breeding, to training, bit selection and correcting common issues. Brad brings a three year old that is started on the pattern and hasn’t even made her first exhibition run yet, an older horse that is finished and being tuned and ridden to keep him working the pattern well, and still another horse from his barn who has some trouble with his first barrel and needs a little work. Brad’s instruction focuses on helping you to create a smoother faster run with snappier turns and a willing horse who is light and responsive.

This video is suitable for beginner to advanced riders with at least average riding ability, and the exercises presented here are suitable for young to finished horses. Brad discusses such topics as bit selection, head placement, flexion, pocket size, alleyway refusal, leaning into pockets, and ducking at barrels. With a focus on limiting the amount of fear and anxiety that is placed on his horses, Brad has been able to create a successful program. This video is an opportunity to delve into Brad’s program and take away knowledge that will improve your partnership with your horse and allow you to make that Winning Run!

Mark Allen, of MC Diamond Rand (mcdiamond.com) is featured this month on Winning Tips! This month Mark and WinningRuns.com introduce you to a new and innovative equipment option that may have you re-thinking the type of halters you have been using. To see the halter click here.

WinningRuns.com trip back East to visit Crossroads Arena in Cloverdale, Indiana, has been fruitful to say the least. nbsp; This month, Charlotte and the crew are coming to you again from the best arena East of the Mississippi, and they are bringing Brad Wagner to you!! nbsp;As a five time AQHA World Champion in both barrel racing and pole bending, a three time Sweepstakes Congress Champion in Pole bending, and with multiple futurity and derbt wins under his belt, Brad offers you his best in this video installment and he shows you how (from started colt to finished horse) to make that Winning Run!

In this video Brad shows you how to make a horse:
- How to start, train and tune a barrel horse.
- How to address common issues in finished horses.
- How to create fluidity and correctness around a barrel.
- and some helpful tips for pole benders.

Brad rides three different horses in this video and allows you to view his training program from start to finish. nbsp;Every aspect of his program is outlined and discussed in this video from breeding, to training, bit selection and correcting common issues. nbsp;Brad brings a three year old that is started on the pattern and hasn't even made her first exhibition run yet, an older horse that is finished and being tuned and ridden to keep him working the pattern well, and still another horse from his barn who has some trouble with his first barrel and needs a little work. nbsp;Brad's instruction focuses on helping you to create a smoother faster run with snappier turns and a willing horse who is light and responsive.

This video is suitable for beginner to advanced riders with at least average riding ability, and the exercises presented here are suitable for young to finished horses. Brad discusses such topics as bit selection, head placement, flexion, pocket size, alleyway refusal, leaning into pockets, and ducking at barrels. nbsp; With a focus on limiting the amount of fear and anxiety that is placed on his horses, Brad has been able to create a successful program. nbsp; This video is an opportunity to delve into Brad's program and take away knowledge that will improve your partnership with your horse and allow you to make that Winning Run!

Mark Allen, of MC Diamond Rand (mcdiamond.com) is featured this month on Winning Tips! nbsp; This month Mark and WinningRuns.com introduce you to a new and innovative equipment option that may have you re-thinking the type of halters you have been using. To see the halter click here.

With well over $3 million in winnings, 35 saddles, 15 trailers and 45 buckles Troy Crumrine has established him self among barrel racing’s elite competitors and earned star status. Wins at Fort Smith, Oklahoma City, Old Fort Days, Speedhorse, and BFA Worlds are a testament to his ability and his talent. A resume like Troy’s is more than impressive, it is awe inspiring. The accolades and awards are proof that his training program works, and that his methods create champions. This installment of WinningRuns.com finds Troy offering you the opportunity to learn directly from him what it takes to earn Millions in Winning Runs!!

Charlotte and the WinningRuns.com crew traveled to Cross Roads Arena in Coverdale, Indiana, to visit with Troy and watch the master at work. Troy effortlessly jumps into his training philosophies and just keeps on going. From tips that will strengthen your horse’s foundation – to mental toughness and equipment selection, Troy allows you into his training program and shows you how he has created champions. A good portion of Troy’s training program is geared toward making a horse “wickedly fast” in the turns, and he takes time in this video to show you exercises that will create that kind of turning machine.

A large part of any barrel racers program is spent addressing issues that arise as our horses move from the training pen to the competition arena. Troy is not immune to these types of issues and in this video he takes time to address some common issues that plague many of us, and offers different drills and solutions for keeping your horse attentive and performing at a peak level.

This video is suitable for beginner to advanced riders with at least average riding ability, and the exercises presented here are suitable for young to finished horses. Troy discusses such topics as the importance of a strong foundation including ground work and flexibility, tack and equipment selection, forward motion, the importance of whoa, your pocket within the pattern, relaxation in the turns and mental preparation.

This video will be one that you watch over and over again as you learn something new each time. From achieving a desirable headset and perfecting your pocket, to bit selection and the use of draw reins. Troy covers all the bases in this video, and shows you how to put them together to make a Winning Run!

Liana De Weese of DeWeesebarrelhorses.com returns this month to Winning Tips to finish up her series on creating the better broke barrel horse. Liana expands on the basics that she went over in last month’s installment, and moves into more advanced exercises that will improve your horse for any arena of competition.

DVD approx. 1 hr. 20 min.
